Aesthetic update for StackEnvader


YES YES YESSSS! 😤
It took time, a few hurdles, and way too much coffee... but finally — the much-needed (though maybe not mind-blowingly wow) aesthetic update is here!

This update brings a dynamic day and night cycle to better match the background shifts, along with my first go at post-processing effects!
Not gonna lie — managing non-continuous directional lighting through different times of day was way more annoying than I expected. Huge thanks to my friends and a bunch of helpful threads that got me through the madness. 🙏

So what’s next? 😎

A not-so-major major update is on the way!
It’ll introduce a new system that'll pave the road for even more exciting stuff in future versions — so definitely stay tuned.

What’s “fixed” 😶

  • The game was too slow — so block placement now ramps up the speed faster.

  • The enemy spawn height marker was a bit tricky — I’ve had to manually set it for now (don’t worry, it’s only weird behind the scenes; player side should look 👌).

If I missed something — or you find anything that needs a fix — drop a note and let me know!

PS: My high score this time is 72 — the new speed definitely makes it take a bit more focus now 😅
